Cliff Richards OAM enlisted in the Army as a National Serviceman in 1968 and served in Vietnam with the 17th Construction Squadron Workshop as a Craftsman.  He was discharged from the Army in 1970 and joined the Sunshine RSL Branch (Vic) in 1976.

He transferred to the Bendigo District Servicemen’s Club (RSL) and in 1992 was appointed to the Committee holding numerous positions on the Executive.  He was elected Senior Vice President in 1997 and in 2002-2018 Elected President.

In 2013 Cliff was admitted to the RSL Licensed Sub-Branches Association Hall of Fame and in 2014 awarded a National Life Membership with Gold Badge at the Victorian State Conference, the highest award bestowed by the National Executive of the RSL.  Cliff has also been awarded an OAM for service to veterans and their families.
