Steven Lee, AM

Sub Branch Committee Member: February 2021 – Present

Mr Steven Lee is a Sub-Branch Committee member with 32 years of service in the Australian Army. Steven was appointed to the Sub-Branch Committee in February 2021.

Steven joined the Army in 1983 and is a graduate of the Royal Military College and the Army Command and Staff College. He has served as a Signals Officer in variety of command and staff appointments. These have included Officer Commanding Army Component HMAS Coonawarra, Commanding Officer of 7th Signal Regiment, Commandant Defence Command Support Training Centre and Director General Organisational Reform in the Defence Chief Information Officer Group.

His operational service includes deployments on OP TAMAR (UN Mission to Rwanda) 1994 and OP CATALYST (Iraq) 2007. Steven has also completed exchange postings to the US and UK, including as the senior communications staff officer in the Australian Embassy, Washington.

Steven has been a member of the RSL since December 2013 and completed a 2 year stint on the Commemorative Activities Sub-Committee 2014-2015. He was the President of the Legacy Club of Bendigo from 2017-2019 and still remains an active Legatee and Board member.
